Growing Zones
Bring vivid, rose-pink color and classic silver-green foliage to sunny spots with Javelin Forte Deep Rose Spanish Lavender. Compact and floriferous, it stacks showy bracts over purple flower heads that draw pollinators and stand out from a distance. The neat, bushy habit makes it a natural fit for containers, edging, and small gardens.
Built for heat and lean soils, this lavender keeps blooming with light shearing and minimal fuss. Snip stems for fragrant cut bundles, refresh the plant, and enjoy another round of color through summer.
Javelin Forte Deep Rose Spanish Lavender Care
Give 6–8+ hours of direct sun daily. Plant in sharply drained soil; sandy or gravelly loam is ideal with a pH of 6.5–7.8. Water regularly for the first 2–3 weeks to establish; afterward, water when the top 2–3 inches of soil are dry, avoiding constantly wet roots. Feed lightly in spring with a low-nitrogen, slow-release fertilizer or a thin compost top-dress; heavy feeding reduces fragrance and bloom.
Shear spent flower stems after each flush to promote rebloom, and avoid cutting into old woody stems. Hardy in USDA zones 8–10; grow as an annual or overwinter containers indoors in brighter, cool conditions in colder zones. Ensure excellent air circulation to minimize humidity-related issues.
Javelin Forte Deep Rose Spanish Lavender Spacing
For a single specimen, allow an 18–20 inch circle. For a low hedge or mass, plant 12–14 inches on center so plants knit without overcrowding. Keep 12 inches back from paths and walls for airflow and to showcase the bracted blooms.
In containers, use a 12–14 inch wide pot with multiple drainage holes and a gritty mix (add perlite or pumice); place in full sun and rotate the pot monthly for even growth. No staking required.
