Mature Spread
Add subtle heat to your meals with the Kitchen Minis™ Hot Burrito Pepper plant. This leafy upright plant stands 10 to 12 inches tall and spreads 10 inches across. The blunt conical pepper measures 4 inches long and transforms from lime green to red when ripe. The peppers point upward when growing, creating visual interest. The peppers will be ready to harvest in 80 to 85 days and can be eaten raw, cooked, or canned. The plants have an upright growth habit. The peppers measure 4 inches long by 0.75 inches wide.
Kitchen Minis™ Hot Burrito Pepper Care
Plants can be grown indoors in a warm, sunny spot or moved outdoors after the temperature is consistently above 55 degrees. Use rich, well-draining soil with a pH level of 6.0 to 6.8. Plants can live in full to partial sun.
Growing Kitchen Minis™ Hot Burrito Pepper
Peppers turn bright red when they are ready to harvest, and it generally takes 80 to 85 days for the fruit to ripen. When grown indoors, hot Burrito Peppers may need increased light, so place in a sunny window.
Growing in containers
The plant will reach 10 to 12 inches tall, so it is a great size for a patio table or balcony. Plants in containers typically dry out quickly, so routinely check the soil and water when needed.
Watering Kitchen Minis™ Hot Burrito Pepper
This pepper plant can handle drier conditions, so check the soil and water when the top 3 inches of soil are dry. Saturate the soil when watering until water drains through the holes in the pot.
Feeding Kitchen Minis™ Hot Burrito Pepper
Keep the plant growing and healthy with a 5-10-10 or 10-10-10 fertilizer. The plant food can be applied every few weeks to promote new growth.
