- Height 10-16 Inches
- Width 12-18 Inches
- Use as a filler when using in containers
- Hardy, colorful, drought-resistant & dependable bloomer!
If you’re familiar with growing Calendula officinalis, (aka Pot Marigold, English Marigold, or common marigold) you’re probably familiar with its reputation as a hardy, colorful, drought-resistant and dependable bloomer. However, you’re also probably familiar with its ability to produce massive amounts of seeds and seedlings around your garden. This Lady Godiva® Yellow hybrid variety features large, bright-yellow double flowers that produce far fewer seeds than its officinalis counterpart.
Without all that time spent plucking seedlings out of your garden, you’ll have even more time to spend enjoying the bright blooms and visiting butterflies that Lady Godiva® offers. Like other Marigolds, this variety can withstand a light frost, and provides colorful interest from planting until the hard frosts of late fall. Lady Godiva® Yellow is a great choice for adding color in containers, borders and landscaped gardens. Use the yellow blooms and mounded habit as a “filler” plant in combination container plantings.
Lady Godiva® Yellow English Marigold Care
You can depend on Lady Godiva® to be just as easy going as other Marigolds. It is sun-loving, heat-tolerant and very easy to maintain. Plant it in a location that gets more than four hours of sun per day.
No deadheading is necessary to keep the double blooms coming all season long. Water when the top inch of soil is dry, and fertilize sparingly. Marigolds planted in the ground will require much less water than those planted in containers.
Lady Godiva® Yellow English Marigold Spacing
A hardy and vigorous grower, Lady Godiva® needs up to 12” of space in the garden. The plant performs well in combination containers, and only needs up to 6” of space when planted in a pot.
