Best Locations For Growing Lady Valentine Aglaonema
This plant can be placed outdoors in filtered sunlight as long as the temperatures stay above 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Try placing it on a table top or platform. This plant is considered to be toxic to pets and should be placed accordingly. Its ideal temperature range is 75-85 degrees fahrenheit during the daytime and 60 degrees at night.
Lady Valentine Aglaonema Sunlight Requirements
This plant performs well in filtered or dappled light. Strong, direct bright light will scorch the leaves. Keep it at least 3 feet from the window or light source. This plant does not thrive in low lighting. Consider rotating the plant so it will receive light on all sides and grow evenly.
Lady Valentine Aglaonema Care
This is a very adaptable houseplant that will thrive with proper light and water conditions. Use a peat-based soil and mix three parts soil to one part pumice or perlite. This plant can be propagated by division. Any lower leaves that become discolored can be pruned away.
Watering Lady Valentine Aglaonema
Lady Valentine prefers humidity levels of 75 percent or higher. Its leaves can be misted daily if you live in a dry climate. You can also consider a pebble tray with water sitting underneath the plant. The roots prefer to be moist, but not so saturated that they begin to rot. Water the Lady Valentine Aglaonema when the top 1-2 inches of soil are dry to the touch, and do not let the soil dry out completely between waterings.
Feeding Lady Valentine Aglaonema
Lady Valentine Aglaonema can be fertilized monthly during the spring and summer, but there's no need to feed the plant during the fall or winter season. An all-purpose houseplant fertilizer, 20-20-20 NPK, diluted to half strength is recommended.
