Tough, pollinator-friendly Lantana camara is a hardy annual that delivers in hot, dry locations. This Luscious® Citrus Blend™ variety shows off a vibrant red, orange and yellow display that attracts bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. Plant them in a container on a sunny patio or deck to enjoy watching an endless parade of pollinators all season long. Or, plant into your garden beds to add a punch of color that continues as other perennial flowers come and go.
Luscious Citrus Blend Lantana brightens containers as a colorful “filler” that will bloom until the first hard frost of the season. It has a mounded habit that can grow up to 30” high and 30” wide, depending on the climate and space. Lantanas are worry-free plants in almost any sunny summer garden, but you’ll see them performing their best in the hottest weather. Plus, they are deer-resistant, and heat- and drought-tolerant. That’s one tough plant!
Luscious Citrus Blend Lantana Care
You might get away with completely neglecting your Lantana when you plant it into your garden bed or landscape. Deadheading isn’t usually necessary, either. However, you’ll need to water it occasionally when planted in a container. Avoid overwatering, and allow the soil to completely dry out between watering. Apply compost upon planting in the ground. Regular, balanced fertilization of potted plants will allow for vigorous growth and bloom.
Luscious Citrus Blend Lantana Spacing
Lananta can spread up to 30”, so give your plant plenty of space to grow. When planting in the garden, allow 18 to 24” of space between plants. When planting in a container, give them about 6 to 8” of space. If you’re using your Lantana as a filler in a container with other plants, opt for a larger container of at least 12”.
