Extra-large, ruffled flowers are the standout feature of the Marvel™ Orange African Marigold. Orb-like flowers add color to a landscape and have an astonishing texture. The Tagetes erecta 'Marvel Orange' blooms from early summer through fall. Full, narrow foliage anchors the plant and provides consistent greenery.
Feature this Marigold in a bed, border, or container. This fast grower adds height to a mixed bed or can be used to create a lovely mass planting. Feature the Marvel™ Orange African Marigold in a container to enjoy the large flowers on a deck or patio table. These easy-to-grow annuals attract butterflies and discourage foragers and some pests, making it an excellent companion plant for veggie and flower beds.
Marvel™ Orange African Marigold Care
The Marvel™ Orange African Marigold is drought tolerant, making it a good pick for busy or forgetful gardeners. Consistent water, especially during a dry period, is needed to retain flowers and encourage continuous blooming. Use moist, well-drained soil and plant in full sun. Apply a slow-release fertilizer in the spring.
Remove spent flowers to encourage more prolific blooming. Trim back leggy stems by midsummer to promote more branching and flowering. Remove all growth after the first frost.
Marvel™ Orange African Marigold Spacing
Marvel™ Orange African Marigold plants reach 16 to 18 inches tall and 10 to 12 inches wide. Space plants 10 to 12 inches apart to create a dense planting.
