Mature Height

Mature Spread
Bring sunlit color to tough spots with Mary Ann Lantana. This compact selection blankets itself in clusters that shift from warm yellow and orange to rosy purple-pink, creating a lively, ever-changing display. It thrives through heat, humidity, and dry spells, so you get reliable color when other plants fade.
Use it to brighten borders, baskets, and patio pots. Butterflies and bees flock to the nectar-rich blooms, while the tidy, mounding habit keeps beds looking crisp from spring to frost.
Mary Ann Lantana Care
Give 6–8+ hours of direct sun daily for best flowering. Plant in well-drained soil; a loose, sandy or loamy mix is ideal with a pH around 6.0–7.5. Water new plants regularly for the first few weeks; once established, water when the top 1 inch of soil is dry. Feed with a slow-release balanced fertilizer at planting, then supplement lightly every 6–8 weeks during peak bloom; avoid heavy nitrogen to keep plants compact and floriferous.
Shear lightly after a major flush to refresh shape and encourage new buds. Hardy outdoors in USDA zones 9–11; treat as an annual or overwinter container plants indoors in cooler zones. Generally deer resistant and tolerant of coastal conditions; monitor for whiteflies or spider mites in hot, dry weather.
Mary Ann Lantana Spacing
For a single specimen, allow 18–24 inches of space. For mass plantings or edging, set 14–18 inches on center to form a continuous carpet of color.
Keep at least 12 inches from paths to accommodate natural spread. In containers, choose a 12–14 inch wide pot with drainage for one plant, or a 16–18 inch pot for mixed plantings; position where it receives full sun and good airflow.
