Whether you know it as Moonshine or Moonlight, this Syngonium podophyllum is spectacular and a must-have for any plant collector. The pale green, heart-shaped leaves are large and truly stunning when placed next to other deeply colored tropical houseplants. Both new and experienced houseplant gardeners will appreciate its low maintenance and restrained growth habit. Expect the mature height of Syngonium Moonshine to reach up to 3 feet if allowed to climb a moss pole or other type of trellis.

Best Locations For Growing Moonshine Syngonium

Allow Moonshine to spill out of a pot placed on a shelf or bookcase, or maintain a more mounded shape to decorate a tabletop or desk. High-humidity locations, such as bathrooms or kitchens, support healthy growth; however, supplemental humidity can be provided with pebble trays or cool mist humidifiers in drier rooms. Keep Moonshine away from exterior doors that are opened and closed during the colder winter months. This tropical plant thrives in stable, warm temperatures between 60-80°F. While Syngonium is mildly toxic to dogs and children, cats may experience more serious reactions from ingesting the foliage or stems.

Moonshine Syngonium Sunlight Requirements

Provide a location in an east or west-facing window, or off to the side of a window with southern exposure. Indirect (but still bright) light will protect the delicate leaves from scorching while providing sufficient light levels for efficient photosynthesis.

Moonshine Syngonium Care

Plant your Moonshine Syngonium in an all-purpose potting mix designed for indoor plants. If the mix seems heavy, add perlite or pumice for improved drainage. Incorporating fine orchid bark can also enhance drainage and provide nutrition as it decomposes. Smaller plants are ideal for adding to a terrarium or grouped planting. The pale foliage color contrasts beautifully with darker tropical plants.

Propagation from stem cuttings is simple—just place a cutting in a glass of water. Once roots form, the cutting can be potted in its own small container.

Watering Moonshine Syngonium

Regular watering during the active growth period in spring and summer is essential. Keep the potting mix consistently moist, allowing only the top 1/2 to 1 inch to dry between waterings. Reduce watering frequency during fall and winter, when growth slows significantly. Typically, watering every 10-14 days is a good schedule for winter months.

Feeding Moonshine Syngonium

Use a water-soluble fertilizer with a balanced NPK ratio. Apply once a month from April to August at half the manufacturer's recommended strength.

Plant Addicts Warranty - 1 Year (Extra Purchase Required)

We encourage all plant lovers to purchase the Plant Addicts Warranty, whether you're a new gardener or an expert. There are many variables outside of anyone's control that can cause a plant to die. Hungry animals, drought, poor soil conditions, over watering, diseases & pests are all good examples of what can cause plants to die. The Plant Addicts Warranty is a 1 year warranty protecting you from all of the unknowns and will replace your plant if something were to happen to it.

The warranty is purchased on a per plant basis and must be purchased at the same time as the plant(s). We will cover 100% of the price of the plant, but the warranty does not cover shipping costs. SImply let us know if your plant has died within 1 year of receiving it and we will get you a new one shipped out as soon as possible (depending on the time of the year and availability). We may ask for photos for documentation purposes, but we try to make the process as easy as possible.

Guarantee and Warranty

Plant Shipping

Below are some factors we consider when determining when to ship the plants depending on the timing of the order.

Winter to Early Spring

We ship only when it's warm enough to plant in your growing zone.
Sometimes plants aren't completely ready to sell and ship in early spring. We will wait until the plants are ready before shipping so you don't get a subpar product.
For Southern plants we will be able to ship much earlier than plants coming from our northern nursery.

Summer

If there is extreme heat we may delay shipping for a week or several weeks.
We review what areas the plants are traveling through as well as your location.

Fall into Winter

We’ll ship plants out all the way up to the end of the fall planting season!

Winter

Get your order in early to reserve your plants for Spring planting!

Once your plant is shipped you’ll receive an automated email with tracking information.
