Nonstop® Fire Begonia is a double flower in a bright orange against a canvas of dark green foliage. The plant provides a welcome splash of color to part shade or shade areas from late spring to frost.
Nonstop Fire Tuberous Begonia is a perennial native to tropical South America and south Africa. It is not cold hardy in the United States. It is heat tolerant so stays pretty until frost. Deer and rabbits don’t like this plant, but hummingbirds love it. It makes a nice border, looks good in the landscape, in hanging baskets, and in mixed containers. Its upright growth makes it a filler in containers.
Nonstop® Fire Begonia Care
Nonstop® Fire Tuberous Begonia grows in part shade to shade. When planting in the landscape, it should have compost or slow-release fertilizer sprinkled beside it. If in a container or hanging basket, fertilize regularly with water soluble fertilizer. Nonstop® Fire Tuberous Begonia needs regular watering, especially in containers and hanging baskets.
This plant does not need deadheading, but it will look neater if you deadhead it. Nonstop® Fire Tuberous Begonia needs fertile, well-drained soil that has a neutral pH or is slightly acidic.
Nonstop® Fire Begonia Spacing
Nonstop® Fire Tuberous Begonia is a short (8-12 inches) but wide (12-14 inches) plant. For the best growth and maximum blossoms, plant with a spacing of 12-16 inches.
