Phantom Hydrangea - Tree Form

Phantom Hydrangea - Tree Form Care

The Phantom Hydrangea - Tree Form is happiest and flowers best when it is grown in full sun to partial shade. It favors a fertile and well-drained soil and needs to be watered frequently to keep the soil moist, but not saturated. A mulch of organic matter will help lock in moisture, especially over the summer. Fertilize with a balanced, slow-release shrub feed annually in early spring.  

If shoots begin to grow along the trunk, you can remove them to maintain the tree form. In early spring, prune lightly to shape and remove any dead branches. When grown in a container, Phantom Hydrangea will require more frequent irrigation to maintain moisture levels.

Over time, the Phantom Hydrangea - Tree Form can grow to 6 to 8 feet tall and 4 to 6 feet across. A plant spacing of 6 feet apart will give the canopies room to grow and thrive.
