Begonia Pegasus is originally from the subtropical and tropical areas of South and Central American, Africa, and Asia. It is grown for its thick foliage, which is dark green with a silver variegation. It will grow in shade but does best in part-shade.
Pegasus flowers in the summer and fall. Its blooms attract hummingbirds and is perfect for combination planters that have vigorous varieties.
Proven Accents® Pegasus® Begonia Care
Begonia Pegasus needs regular fertilization to keep its foliage in the best condition. Water Begonia Pegasus enough to keep a consistent level of moisture in the plant. Do not let it sit in standing water, though, as that will kill it. Since it needs regular fertilization, Begonia Pegasus just needs average soil.
As a tender perennial, Begonia Pegasus won’t make it through the winter outside. However, Begonia Pegasus makes a happy houseplant, so you can overwinter them in the house.
Proven Accents® Pegasus® Begonia Spacing
Under ideal conditions, Begonia Pegasus can get up 18 inches tall and 18 inches wide. For it to get that big means it needs room to spread out. Give Begonia Pegasus 16-18 inches between plants so it has that room.
