Even in the winter when it loses its leaves, Purple Pillar will still add a design element to the garden.

Purple Pillar is a tall plant, growing 10-16 ft. high and just 2-3 ft. wide! This is a plant that is not only a great focal point in the garden, it is a fabulous hedge to surround the garden or as a screen to provide some privacy to the home. It can be used in a container as the thriller or used in mass plantings as well, creating its own pollinator haven.

Interesting Fact - The flowers on Purple Pillar rose of Sharon are semi-double, which means that they have two or more layers of petals, but that the stamens and pistil are still visible in the center.

Posted by Susan Pershall on Jun 07, 2020

The plants arrived nicely packaged, looks healthy and green...the only thing is that they haven't bloomed, so I'm not sure yet if they are purple. Will come back to finish rating later. Thank you!

Posted by BGMN on Apr 27, 2019

I didn't even know that rose of sharon could be grown in a shape like this. I immediately wanted to grow a privacy hedge with these beautiful bushes! I CANNOT wait until these get bigger. I heard rose of sharon grows fast, so fingers crossed the hedge is big soon!
