Red Lion Amaryllis Kit brings true red, trumpet-shaped blooms indoors when most plants are resting, and the flowers open in sequence so the display lasts. This kit starts with a premium 30/32 cm bulb and grows about 18-24 inches tall, staying nicely contained in its pot for tabletops and mantels. Expect flowers in about 6–8 weeks after planting, and with the right after-bloom routine you can save the bulb and coax it to bloom again next season. In our homes, we set Red Lion where it catches morning light because the stalks stand straighter and the color looks richest.
Best Locations For Growing Red Lion Amaryllis Kit
Grow it indoors on a kitchen counter, dining table, mantel, or a bright living room side table where you can enjoy the bloom progression up close. Keep it away from heat vents and cold drafts since quick temperature swings can shorten the show. Amaryllis is toxic if ingested, so display it out of reach of pets and small children.
Red Lion Amaryllis Kit Sunlight Requirements
Place it in bright, indirect light, such as an east or south window with a little space back from the glass. Once buds begin to open, shifting the pot to a slightly cooler spot with the same indirect light can help blooms hold longer.
Red Lion Amaryllis Kit Care
Use the rehydrated soil disc and plant so the top third of the bulb remains above the surface, with the roots spread gently and the neck exposed. If the stalk starts leaning, rotate the pot every few days so it corrects toward the light. After flowering, snip off spent blooms and cut the flower stalk down once it softens, but leave the leaves to recharge the bulb for future blooms.
Watering Red Lion Amaryllis Kit
Water lightly at planting, then wait to water again until you see steady growth and the top inch of mix feels dry. Keep the mix slightly moist, never wet, and don’t let the container sit in standing water. Average indoor humidity is suitable.
Feeding Red Lion Amaryllis Kit
During the bloom cycle, feeding is optional, but it helps if you plan to keep the bulb for next year. After flowering, fertilize every 2-4 weeks with a balanced liquid houseplant fertilizer while the leaves are green and growing.
