Red Siam Aglaonema is a very easy plant to care for. It has vibrant green to silver, and red pointed leaves. These vibrant colors are sure to brighten up any room. This plant typically blooms a light greenish-white flower during late summer or early fall. They are native to the humid, shady forests of Asia and New Guinea.

Best Location For Growing Red Siam Aglaonema

This houseplant appreciates heat, so consider placing it in a warm, humid spot where night temperatures remain above 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Daytime temperatures should be between 75-85 degrees Fahrenheit. This plant is toxic if ingested, so place the plant accordingly. During the summer, this plant performs well outside on a shaded patio or deck. Just bring them inside when fall temperatures begin to drop below 60 F. This plant is hardy in zones 11-12.

Red Siam Aglaonema Sunlight Requirements

This beautiful plant prefers low to medium indirect light. It can adapt to very low light conditions, but the growth will slow considerably. Direct morning sunlight is fine, but avoid exposure to the bright, direct afternoon sunlight, which will burn the leaves. A grow light can be used if ideal indoor conditions are not available.

Red Siam Aglaonema Care

This stunning exotic plant prefers loose, well-drained, porous potting soil. A good soil mixture is one part potting soil, one part peat moss and one part perlite. This plant requires high humidity or frequent misting. It can flourish outside as long as it's not exposed to too much bright, direct sunlight. Red Siam Aglaonema can be propagated by stem cuttings, seeds, or root division. The easy method of propagation is dividing the root ball into two or three sections.

Watering Red Siam Aglaonema

Water this plant when the top 2-3 inches of soil become dry to the touch. One preferred method of successfully watering Red Siam Aglaonema is the drench and dry method.  Allow the plant to dry fairly well and then slowly drench the plant thoroughly. This keeps the roots partially moist but not soggy. If it's a dry environment, daily misting can be done.

Fertilizing Red Siam Aglaonema

Fertilize this houseplant once per month with a diluted, balanced houseplant fertilizer during spring and summer. During the fall, you may only have to fertilize the plant once, while holding off during the winter. Be careful not to over fertilize this plant as a buildup of mineral salts can cause root burn and brown leaves to form. You can avoid this buildup by flushing the potting soil with water every three months.

Plant Addicts Warranty - 1 Year (Extra Purchase Required)

We encourage all plant lovers to purchase the Plant Addicts Warranty, whether you're a new gardener or an expert. There are many variables outside of anyone's control that can cause a plant to die. Hungry animals, drought, poor soil conditions, over watering, diseases & pests are all good examples of what can cause plants to die. The Plant Addicts Warranty is a 1 year warranty protecting you from all of the unknowns and will replace your plant if something were to happen to it.

The warranty is purchased on a per plant basis and must be purchased at the same time as the plant(s). We will cover 100% of the price of the plant, but the warranty does not cover shipping costs. SImply let us know if your plant has died within 1 year of receiving it and we will get you a new one shipped out as soon as possible (depending on the time of the year and availability). We may ask for photos for documentation purposes, but we try to make the process as easy as possible.

Guarantee and Warranty

Plant Shipping

Below are some factors we consider when determining when to ship the plants depending on the timing of the order.

Winter to Early Spring

We ship only when it's warm enough to plant in your growing zone.
Sometimes plants aren't completely ready to sell and ship in early spring. We will wait until the plants are ready before shipping so you don't get a subpar product.
For Southern plants we will be able to ship much earlier than plants coming from our northern nursery.

Summer

If there is extreme heat we may delay shipping for a week or several weeks.
We review what areas the plants are traveling through as well as your location.

Fall into Winter

We’ll ship plants out all the way up to the end of the fall planting season!

Winter

Get your order in early to reserve your plants for Spring planting!

Once your plant is shipped you’ll receive an automated email with tracking information.
