Dieffenbachia plants are known for its beautiful variegation, and the Reflector Dieffenbachia lives up to this reputation. The Dumb Cane Reflector has long, broad leaves in dark green with random flecks of chartreuse and a strip of yellowish-green along the midrib. Leaves grow from a central stalk, giving this plant a full and bushy appearance. These tropical plants often grow several feet tall indoors.

Best Locations For Growing Reflector Dieffenbachia

The leafy Reflector Dieffenbachia is a fast-growing plant that initially makes an excellent tabletop or mantle plant and eventually makes a beautiful floor plant. Find a spot with plenty of sunlight and space to accommodate this sizable houseplant. Dieffenbachias produce a sap that is irritating to the skin and toxic if ingested. This plant is potentially dangerous to have around young children and pets.

Reflector Dieffenbachia Sunlight Requirements

A sunny spot with bright sunlight is best for the Reflector Dieffenbachia. Abundant light promotes growth and encourages more brighter variegation. Shield the plant from direct sunlight, which can burn the leaves. Plants in medium light may become leggy and less bright in color.

Reflector Dieffenbachia Care

The Reflector Dieffenbachia is not demanding and is generally low-maintenance. Trim dead growth as necessary, but wear gloves and clean your shears before and after use to avoid exposure to the harmful sap.

Dieffenbachias need to be repotted every couple of years. When repotting, upgrade the pot to the next size with bottom drainage. Plant the Reflector Dieffenbachia in rich, moist, but well-draining potting soil.

Watering Reflector Dieffenbachia

These plants have medium water requirements, so plan to water your Reflector Dieffenbachia when the top few inches of potting soil are dry. The plant will need water every one to two weeks during the summer and two to three weeks during the winter. Check the soil dampness to determine the best time to water.

The Reflector Dieffenbachia grows well in above-average humidity. The plant naturally experiences high humidity levels in the wild and needs humid conditions to grow. The foliage will develop brown edges if the air is too dry. Use a pebble tray or humidifier to boost indoor humidity.

Feeding Reflector Dieffenbachia

Fertilize the Reflector Dieffenbachia every four weeks during the spring and summer. The boost of nutrition encourages new growth and a full form. Feed the plant using a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer.

Plant Addicts Warranty - 1 Year (Extra Purchase Required)

We encourage all plant lovers to purchase the Plant Addicts Warranty, whether you're a new gardener or an expert. There are many variables outside of anyone's control that can cause a plant to die. Hungry animals, drought, poor soil conditions, over watering, diseases & pests are all good examples of what can cause plants to die. The Plant Addicts Warranty is a 1 year warranty protecting you from all of the unknowns and will replace your plant if something were to happen to it.

The warranty is purchased on a per plant basis and must be purchased at the same time as the plant(s). We will cover 100% of the price of the plant, but the warranty does not cover shipping costs. SImply let us know if your plant has died within 1 year of receiving it and we will get you a new one shipped out as soon as possible (depending on the time of the year and availability). We may ask for photos for documentation purposes, but we try to make the process as easy as possible.

Guarantee and Warranty

Plant Shipping

Below are some factors we consider when determining when to ship the plants depending on the timing of the order.

Winter to Early Spring

We ship only when it's warm enough to plant in your growing zone.
Sometimes plants aren't completely ready to sell and ship in early spring. We will wait until the plants are ready before shipping so you don't get a subpar product.
For Southern plants we will be able to ship much earlier than plants coming from our northern nursery.

Summer

If there is extreme heat we may delay shipping for a week or several weeks.
We review what areas the plants are traveling through as well as your location.

Fall into Winter

We’ll ship plants out all the way up to the end of the fall planting season!

Winter

Get your order in early to reserve your plants for Spring planting!

Once your plant is shipped you’ll receive an automated email with tracking information.
