Feature
This is a wonderful succulent shrub for the home or office. It is fairly low maintenance and boasts wavy, dense, bluish-gray green leaves. In the spring, it will reward you with tiny white, star-shaped blossoms. Native to South Africa, this plant is also known as Curly Jade because its leaves “curl” or twist.
Best Locations For Growing Ripple Jade Plant
This plant is a great choice for a living room or office, provided that you give it enough sunlight. Try placing it on a windowsill. Just keep it out of reach of children and pets because it is toxic.
Ripple Jade Plant Sunlight Requirements
The Ripple Jade plant likes full sun. A south-facing window is the perfect spot. If your plant is stretching, that means it needs more light. Reposition it or invest in a grow light.
Ripple Jade Plant Care
Use a porous clay or terracotta pot with drainage holes for your Ripple Jade. This material will reduce the risk of overwatering, which can lead to root rot. Use a loamy, well-draining soil with a neutral to slightly acidic pH. You can add perlite or vermiculite to your soil to improve drainage. Your Ripple Jade will need repotting every few years to prevent it from becoming root bound.
Watering Ripple Jade Plant
The Ripple Jade plant has typical water needs for a succulent. Use the “soak and dry” method, allowing the soil to completely dry between waterings.
Feeding Ripple Jade Plant
Fertilize your Ripple Jade plant every few weeks. For the most part, this plant doesn’t need a lot of feeding, but you can use a fertilizer formulated for succulent plants during the spring and summer to maximize growth.
