- Full Shade to Partial Shade (0 - 3 Hours Direct Sunlight)
- Mature Height 10-20 Inches
- Mature Width 12-24 Inches
- Use as a Filler in Containers
Bring the color and charm of miniature roses to brighten up your shady spaces with this strong performing impatiens hybrid. With double flowers in tight clusters looking like tiny roses in vivacious pink-red, the plant smothers itself in color from planting through fall. As a bonus, it needs no deadheading to keep the flowers coming. Just sit back and enjoy the show.
This award-winning Impatiens walleriana hybrid is mounded in habit, growing ten to 20 inches high with dark green foliage that sets off the rich blossoms. It makes a great filler in any container as well as a perfect edging plant for garden beds in part- to full shade. Teamed with a delicate white flower like starry Euphorbia ‘Diamond Frost’ or a single white calibrachoa, your bed or container will look like a bouquet of roses complete with Baby’s Breath (Gypsophila).
Rockapulco® Red Impatiens Care
Rockapulco Red pairs diva style and performance with an easy-going personality, asking only for moderate fertilizer, some shade from the hottest sun, and enough water to keep it from drying out. Average soil is fine. In the ground, fertilize with compost or slow-release fertilizer at planting. In containers, regular application will ensure profuse and consistent flowering.
While they don’t require pruning, it’s easy to do so at any time to encourage fuller branching. The new Rockapulco series is able to handle the hottest, most humid conditions. The supplier promises “We will Rockapulco your world”. Not sure what it means, sign us up.
Rockapulco® Red Impatiens Spacing
These impatiens make a symmetrical mound about ten to 20 inches high, and 12-24 inches across. The ideal spacing for them would be approximately ten to 12 inches between plants.
