We always think of beloved Impatiens as “impatients” because they are so eager to start blooming in the early spring. While this is may not be the proper etymology of the name, it still suits the favorite annuals perfectly. Impatiens is always at the ready as the perfect addition to flower beds and containers in the spring. And the Rockapulco® Rose Double Impatiens improve upon the popular species with double pink flowers that look like delicate, miniature roses.
Plant Rockapulco® Rose Double Impatiens in a shady sanctuary to get the most from their beautiful blooms. Their tidy mounded habit proves to be a reliable “filler” in combination container plantings. Don’t let their delicate rosebud blooms fool you, Rockapulco® Rose isn’t needy. They require very little attention in the way of maintenance.
Rockapulco® Rose Impatiens Care
The laid-back Rockapulco® Rose needs regular watering and a small amount of fertilizer to thrive. Be sure to plant them in a location that gets no more than four hours of sunlight a day.
They love hot, humid locations but don’t love the sun. Deadheading isn’t necessary, but you can trim them back if they get too tall for your liking.
Rockapulco® Rose Impatiens Spacing
Rockapulco® Rose Double Impatiens can spread up to 24”, but are not aggressive and make great neighbors. Give them about 10-12” of space when planted in the ground. They can be planted as close as 8” apart in containers.
