Best Locations For Growing Rope Plant Hoya
The Rope Plant Hoya looks great in hanging baskets or on an elevated shelf. It drapes down just like living rope and will look great in any bright spot in your home. Place it two or three feet away from a south-facing window, or near an east- or west-facing window.
Rope Plant Hoya Sunlight Requirements
Avoid direct light with this plant and instead ensure that it gets adequate bright indirect light. Bright indirect light will produce the best growth and blooms. Preferably, the Rope Plant Hoya should get at least 6 hours of sunlight daily.
Rope Plant Hoya Care
Rope Plant Hoyas prefers warm temperatures and high humidity to ensure lush foliage and continuous flowers. Protect your plant from temperatures below 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Mist your Hoya with water to boost humidity levels. The soil for your plant should be fast draining as hoya roots need good air circulation. You can improve your soil’s aeration by adding perlite or use an orchid potting soil blend.
Watering Rope Plant Hoya
Allow the top two to three inches of soil to completely dry out before watering your Hoya. It is a semi-succulent plant and can live with less water. When watering, allow the excess water to drain out and don’t let the plant sit in water. Pull back on watering in the winter when growth slows. Check to see if you need to increase the humidity in the winter when heaters are running.
Feeding Rope Plant Hoya
To ensure that your Rope Plant Hoya creates continuous blooms and lush foliage, you should fertilize on a regular basis. During the spring and summer months, use a light dose of a potassium-rich fertilizer about every 3 to 4 weeks. There is generally no need to fertilize this plant in the winter when growth slows.
