Fuchsia is a great option for a splash of color for shady areas in your garden. This self-cleaning beauty with red and white flowers, and dark green foliage, requires little to no deadheading and bloom from planting, right up until frost. While small in size, Shadow Dancer Betty puts on a big show with very little work.

Hailing from tropical/subtropical origins, this is a great plant to attract birds, butterflies and hummingbirds to your garden. It can be used as an upright Thriller in your window boxes, and containers. Small red and white skirted flowers will dangle from your hanging baskets. In the landscape, Betty can really brighten up your beds.

Shadow Dancers® Betty Fuchsia Care

Plant Shadow Dancer Betty in full shade to part shade for best performance. Use an all-purpose, slow release fertilizer when planting in containers and landscape. No further fertilizer is needed in a landscape setting, but feed with a water-soluble flowering plant food every six to eight weeks when planted in baskets or containers.

Whether you are planting this Fuchsia in the landscape or in containers, make sure the soil has good drainage and is friable. These fuchsias prefer moist, but not soggy soil, don’t let them go too long between waterings. Deadheading is not necessary. Watch for spider mites if bringing these plants indoors for the winter.

Shadow Dancers® Betty Fuchsia Spacing

Fuchsia Shadow Dancer Betty reaches a height of 8-12 inches tall and has a spread of 10-15 inches. For best results space plants 8-12 inches apart when planting in beds. Using 3-5 Shadow Dancer Betty plants in a 12 inch planter will result in a full, beautiful container.
