If you are looking to add height and structure indoors, then the Sted Sol Cane Dracaena, or Dragon Tree as it is often referred to, is definitely worth bearing in mind. Often mistaken for a palm, the Sted Sol Cane Dracaena produces vibrant, variegated leaves off solid, trunk-like stems. Easy to grow and care for, it can add a touch of the exotic to any room and will even help purify the air.

Best Locations For Growing Sted Sol Cane Dracaena

Dracaenas are considered toxic to pets and humans, so care must be taken when growing this plant around animals or children. With a preference for high humidity levels, the Sted Sol Cane Dracaena will thrive in a humid environment such as a bathroom or kitchen.

Sted Sol Cane Dracaena Sunlight Requirements

The Sted Sol Cane Dracaena grows best when it is placed in bright, indirect light. Near an east- or west-facing window can be ideal. Avoid placing it near a south-facing window where the strong midday sun may scorch the foliage and damage the leaf markings.

Sted Sol Cane Dracaena Care

The Sted Sol Cane Dracaena is relatively low maintenance, although humidity is something to be aware of. Preferring medium to high levels of humidity, regular misting may be required if the room where it is grown is on the dry side. Placing the plant on a tray of wet gravel or pebbles can also help increase the plant’s humidity levels. If your plant displays any brown or dead leaves, these can be gently pulled or cut away using a pair of sanitized and sharp scissors.

Watering Sted Sol Cane Dracaena

As with most dracaenas, this plant prefers moist soil that is well drained. However, watering is only recommended when the top half of the soil has dried out, as the Sted Sol Cane Dracaena is sensitive to being overwatered. Watering with harvested rainwater, which is chemical free, is advisable. During the growing season, water this plant about every two weeks. In winter, when the growth slows, watering can be reduced.

Feeding Sted Sol Cane Dracaena

To encourage strong growth and lush foliage, feed the Sted Sol Cane Dracaena monthly during the growing season, with a general houseplant fertilizer diluted to half strength. Feeding during the winter months is not required as growth slows.
