Best Locations For Growing String of Bananas

You can grow this succulent in any space that can support a hanging plant. Kitchen and sunrooms are the most popular locations.

String of Bananas Sunlight Requirements

The String of Bananas needs lots of light to flourish. Place it near a window that will give it plenty of sun all day long. A south-facing window is optimal, and be sure to rotate the plant regularly to promote even growth.

String of Bananas Care

Plant String of Bananas in an organic succulent and cactus mix that provides good drainage. Use a container size that is one inch larger than the plant. Repotting should be done in the spring every two years. Be sure not to plant the top of the root ball farther than one inch in the soil to avoid stem rot.

Watering String of Bananas

Water needs for the String of Bananas are low. Water every two to three weeks thoroughly, and let the soil dry out completely before watering again.
