Summer Punch splashes patios with three calibrachoa flavors—Grape Punch’s deep violet trumpets, Pomegranate Punch’s velvety red blooms, and Tangerine Punch’s orange petals rimmed in burgundy. From late spring through fall, each plant pumps out one-inch flowers that spill over a 14-inch basket, forming a low, cascading dome roughly a foot high and two feet wide. The colors read clearly from a distance, yet the darker throats add surprising depth up close. Light fragrance and continual nectar keep hummingbirds circling through the warm months.
All three Superbells cultivars share a mounded-trailing habit, natural heat tolerance, and resistance to the common mildew that can plague lesser petunias. They drop spent blossoms on their own, so no tedious grooming is required. Native to South American slopes, calibrachoas tolerate short dry spells yet reward regular watering with denser bloom. Use the blend in hanging baskets, tall urns, window boxes, or at the edge of raised beds where drainage is sharp and stems can cascade freely.
Summer Punch Combination Care
Fill a 14-inch container with a peat-based mix amended for quick drainage; stagger the plugs of each color around the rim so shoots angle outward. Water deeply after planting and let the top inch of soil dry before irrigating again—roots kept constantly wet invite rot. Feed every other week with a water-soluble bloom booster to support the calibrachoas’ heavy appetite. If stems run long by midsummer, shear the entire planting by one-third, fertilize, and enjoy a fresh flush of flowers within ten days.
Treat Summer Punch as an annual outside zones 9–11; frost ends the show, but plants overwinter indoors under bright light if you trim lightly, check for pests, and water sparingly. In frost-free gardens, a late-winter trim plus fresh fertilizer keeps the trio blooming for a second year. Whether indoors or out, expect nonstop color for eight to nine months given warmth and sun.
Summer Punch Combination Spacing
This kit fills one standard 14-inch basket; move up to an 18-inch pot if you prefer a looser cascade. Choose containers at least ten inches deep and always provide drainage holes to keep these calibrachoas performing at their peak. In raised beds or rock walls, set transplants ten inches apart so mounds merge without crowding.
