The new Sun Parasol® Bluephoria Mandevilla (Mandevilla hybrid) draws attention with coral-pink buds that transition into cool blue petals. This midsized choice features color from spring into summer, offering a lively accent to patios and gardens. The deep center contrasts with the softly hued petals, creating a striking display. As a flexible option for many settings, it tolerates heat and moderate humidity with ease.
Sun Parasol® Bluephoria Mandevilla is evergreen in mild regions and can be trained on a trellis or left to cascade from hanging baskets. Many gardeners value its extended blooming period, which attracts pollinators through the warmer months. We've found the plant adapts readily to containers, garden beds, and large landscapes. Its robust branching and relative pest resistance make it a reliable focal point for outdoor living spaces.
Sun Parasol® Bluephoria Mandevilla Care
Plant it in slightly acidic, well-draining soil with a pH range near 5.5 to 6.0. Provide four to six hours of direct light for the best flower production. Water routinely but allow the top layer of soil to dry between watering sessions. Feed every couple of weeks using a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer during the active growing season.
Light pinching or tip pruning encourages denser growth. Remove old flowers and damaged foliage as needed to keep it looking fresh. In containers, select a pot with proper drainage and refresh the topsoil each year to maintain healthy roots. In colder regions, move your mandevilla indoors prior to the first frost and keep it in a sunny spot until spring. Transition it gradually back to the outdoors when temperatures are reliably above 55 degrees Fahrenheit.
Sun Parasol® Bluephoria Mandevilla Spacing
Allow at least 24 inches between individual plants in a garden bed for adequate air movement and trailing space. When creating a mass planting or border, place them slightly closer for a continuous wave of color. A container at least 12 inches across gives the roots enough room to establish when starting a new Sun Parasol® Bluephoria Mandevilla.
