Large, long-lasting flowers make the Sunbeckia® Luna Black-Eyed Susan or Rudbeckia hirta Sunbeckia 'Luna' a dazzling addition to a landscape. Enjoy the flowers throughout the summer and fall. Broad petals overlap for a dense flowerhead. Bright yellow petals have reddish-brown centers and surround a large brown seed cone. Green foliage fills in the lower portions of the stems.
The Sunbeckia® Luna Black-Eyed Susan adds height and color to a mixed cottage-inspired bed. Use this beauty in a landscape or mass planting for a burst of color. The Sunbeckia® Luna Black-Eyed Susan makes an excellent filler in a container. The flowers support pollinators, including bees. Grow Sunbeckia® Luna Black-Eyed Susan as a perennial in zones 7 through 10.
Sunbeckia® Luna Black-Eyed Susan Care
The Sunbeckia® Luna Black-Eyed Susan thrives in full sun. Plant it in rich, loamy soil that is acidic and moist or moderately dry. Keep the soil damp but never soggy or dry. Apply a slow-release, balanced fertilizer annually.
Trim faded flowers to encourage the plant to set more blooms. Trim all growth to ground level at the end of the growing season.
