Sunburst Succulent is a unique and vibrant-looking succulent that makes a great houseplant or garden container plant. Their rosettes of variegated foliage edged in pink to red are beautiful and eye-catching. Known as Aeonium percarneum and part of the Crassulaceae or stonecrop family, this plant is native to the Canary Islands. Sunburst Succulent has spoon-shaped leaves on a branching habit. The plant is monocarpic, which means that it dies after flowering.

Best Locations For Growing Sunburst Succulent

Sunburst Succulent makes a great houseplant or container plant for the outdoor patio or garden. If using indoors, place Sunburst in a southern-facing window for best results. Sunburst Succulent is generally non-toxic and safe for pets and children.

Sunburst Succulent Sunlight Requirements

Sunburst Succulent like full direct sun to partial shade. It can be grown indoors if given enough light. Full sun turns the pink leaf edges to a deeper red.

Sunburst Succulent Care

Sunburst Succulent is a low-maintenance houseplant that thrives on neglect like other succulents. Sunburst Succulent requires well-drained loamy or sandy soil. They do not appreciate overly hot weather and will go dormant in the summertime. This succulent likes to be pot bound and needs to be repotted only every two or three years. Sunburst can bruise easily with moderate impact or movement; the bruised foliage can be removed.

Watering Sunburst Succulent

Sunburst has low water needs since it is a succulent. Allow the soil to dry out completely before watering thoroughly. Do not overwater this succulent. They need less water in the summertime during their dormant period. Sunburst Succulent likes lower humidity levels but does not tolerate hot and dry conditions.

Feeding Sunburst Succulent

Sunburst Succulent has low fertilizer needs. Feed once a month with a diluted fertilizer. Do not feed while dormant in the summertime.
