Sundenia® White Dipladenia offers large white tropical flowers on a compact plant that stays easier to manage than many mandevillas. Dipladenia hybrid 'Sundenia White' grows about 12 to 24 inches tall and 18 to 24 inches wide, with glossy green foliage and an upright, bushy habit. The 3 to 5 inch blooms have clean white petals and a yellow throat, appearing steadily from planting time until frost.

This Sundenia® selection was bred to combine the larger flowers of mandevilla with the shorter, fuller habit associated with dipladenia. It is heat tolerant, long blooming, and attractive to hummingbirds and butterflies during the warm season. Deadheading is not needed, which keeps container care simple through summer. Plant it in patio pots, porch planters, hanging baskets, sunny entry containers, and warm-season combinations where its glossy foliage and white flowers can brighten the arrangement.

Sundenia® White Dipladenia Care

Plant Sundenia® White Dipladenia in full sun, with at least 6 hours of direct light for the strongest flowering. It grows best in a well-drained peat-based potting mix that holds some moisture but doesn't stay soggy. A slightly acidic pH around 5.5 to 6.0 is ideal.

Water when the top inch or two of potting mix feels dry, and let excess water drain freely from the container. During hot weather, check pots often because the plant flowers best with steady moisture and good drainage. Feed regularly with a balanced flowering plant fertilizer, or use a slow-release fertilizer at planting and supplement with a liquid feed during peak bloom. In Zones 10 and 11, it can be grown as a tender perennial; elsewhere, treat it as a warm-season annual or overwinter indoors in bright light.

Pinch young plants lightly if fuller branching is desired. Trim long or uneven stems at any point during the growing season to keep the plant rounded in containers. Before bringing plants indoors for winter, inspect leaf undersides for whiteflies, mites, aphids, and other small pests.

Sundenia® White Dipladenia Spacing

Space Sundenia® White Dipladenia 12 to 18 inches apart in warm-season beds or large mixed planters. One plant needs an 8 to 12 inch patio container, or use a wider container when adding companions. Choose containers with drainage holes, since wet roots can quickly lead to decline.

In sunny containers, combine Sundenia® White Dipladenia with fan flower and sweet potato vines, letting the white blooms sit above trailing foliage and heat-tolerant flowers. Add geraniums for stronger upright color in the same bright exposure. In landscape beds used for summer color, salvia makes a good companion because it handles sun, attracts pollinators, and keeps a different flower shape beside the dipladenia.
