The vivid coral blooms of the SunPatiens® Compact Hot Coral Impatiens are ideal if you want to add some hot color to your garden. Impatiens x hybrida 'SAKIMP026' as it is also known produces a compact mound of dark green foliage upon which the flowers bloom from late spring until the first frost. The SunPatiens® Compact Hot Coral Impatiens reaches 12 – 32 inches tall.
The SunPatiens® Compact Hot Coral Impatiens has been bred to cope with a range of conditions and is disease resistant. It is commonly grown an annual but can be grown as a perennial in zones 10 to 11. SunPatiens® are perfect for providing color, whether in a container, window box, or border.
SunPatiens® Compact Hot Coral Impatiens Care
The SunPatiens® Compact Hot Coral Impatiens thrives in both full sun and shade so you do not have to be careful when placing it. It favors a fertile, moist, well-drained soil and will need frequent watering to prevent it from drying out, especially over the summer. Feeding with a liquid fertilizer every 2 to 4 weeks will help promote an endless floral display. No deadheading is required. However, you can trim any leggy growth to promote dense new growth.
The SunPatiens® Compact Hot Coral Impatiens is frost tender and can only be grown as a perennial in zones 10 to 11. Outside of these zones, it is grown as an annual plant.
