Impatiens have long been prized by gardeners with shady yards and covered balconies or patios, but the SunPatiens® Compact Hot Pink Impatiens is a game-changer. This cultivar produces abundant blooms spring through frost while preferring partial to full sun. The delicate flowers boast bright pink petals that overlap, creating a full-looking bloom. The dark green foliage complements the striking flowers.

This sun-loving and easy-care Impatiens thrives in landscapes, mass plantings, and containers. The tall stems can reach 16 to 30 inches high, so feature near the front or middle of a bed or group planting. Container-grown Impatiens will add a burst of color to a deck or porch. This plant is heat-tolerant, so it can easily handle soaring temperatures.

SunPatiens® Compact Hot Pink Impatiens Care

The SunPatiens® Compact Hot Pink Impatiens has similar care needs to other varieties of Impatiens, except it can handle full to partial sun. Use rich, well-draining soil that is slightly acidic and water when the top layer of soil feels dry to the touch. Feed the plant every other week using balanced plant food.

Impatiens are grown as annuals in most areas, but they can live as houseplants during the winter. Cut the growth back and place it in a sunny location. The plant may not need as much water during dormancy, but as long as it is actively growing, you can water when the top inch or two of soil feels dry.

SunPatiens® Compact Hot Pink Impatiens Spacing

As a medium-height plant, this variety will reach 16 to 30 inches tall and 14 to 20 inches wide. Landscape plants can be placed as close as 8 to 12 inches apart or feature 3 to 4 plants in a 10- to 12-inch container.
