  • Height 16-30 Inches
  • Width 14-20 Inches
  • Use as a filler when using in containers
  • Great in sunny walkways or patio containers!

There is an impatiens that can take the sun? Unlike regular impatiens, SunPatiens® is better suited for the sunniest of spots. This impatient hybrid has vigorous green leaves and beautiful lavender blooms that last all summer and fall seasons. It has a mounding upright habit that can reach 16 to 30 inches in height. It will spread only 14 to 20 inches, so it works great in both the landscape and containers.

This sun-loving annual does not suffer in the heat. This impatient was bred with parental lineage native to Indonesia and New Guinea. SunPatiens work well as fillers in containers. Incorporate these plants along a sunny walkway or plant in a sunny patio container to impress the neighbors.

SunPatiens® Compact Orchid Impatiens Care

Virtually maintenance-free, just water regularly. It can stand the heat but beware that it does not tolerate drought. In times of drought, Sunpatiens can wilt. Ensure that the soil is well draining and stays consistently moist. Trimming is not recommended and in doing so it can alter its natural upright habit. To promote continuous blooms and vigorous growth, apply fertilizer or compost to garden beds or apply a weak fertilizer regimen to containers.

This is an annual for most zones in the US (9 and below). Hardy to zones 10 and 11, Sunpatiens cannot tolerate frost. Once frost hits in mid-Fall, these plants will die. Overwintering indoors is not recommended.

SunPatiens® Compact Orchid Impatiens Spacing

Give at least 12 to 24 inches between plants when spacing in the landscape. Use at least a 14-inch pot when planting in containers. Allow at least 6 inches of space between Sunpatiens when planting in combination containers.
