Impatiens are known for their lovely, long-last flowerings, and the SunPatiens® Compact Red Candy® Impatiens does not disappoint. This annual hybrid features bright red flowers with bold, pink-hued accents. This plant is a continuous bloomer, so you can enjoy the lovely flowers from spring through the first frost. Glossy, dark green leaves with serrated edges fill in the empty spaces between the prolific flowers.
The SunPatiens® Compact Red Candy® Impatiens adds color to a mixed bed or container. The mounded growth habit makes this plant a wonderful filler in a container. Pollinators like bees and butterflies visit the blooms, making this an excellent addition to a butterfly garden. This cultivar is disease resistant and easy to grow.
SunPatiens® Compact Red Candy® Impatiens Care
The SunPatiens® Compact Red Candy® Impatiens can live in sun or shade, allowing for flexible placement options. It grows best in rich, slightly acidic soil that is moist and well drained. Keep the soil continually moist but never soggy. Fertilize impatiens using a balanced, water-soluble plant food applied every two weeks during the growing season.
Keep your impatiens looking good with regular pruning. Remove faded flowers to encourage more blooms and create densely branched stems. Give the plant a rejuvenating trim about halfway through the growing season to remove leggy growth and jump-start new growth.
SunPatiens® Compact Red Candy® Impatiens Spacing
This mounded plant grows 12 to 32 inches tall and 14 to 20 inches wide. Space plants 14 to 24 inches apart or plant three in a 12-inch wide container.
