A mix of Impatiens x hybrida ‘Compact Royal Magenta’, ‘Vigorous Pink Kiss’, and ‘Vigorous Shell Pink’, these beauties grow to 28 inches tall and will provide a mass of flowers from late spring until the first frost. This mix is easy to grow and care for, even for amateur gardeners.
Bred to provide thick coverage, the Sunpatiens® Kissing Cousins Mix Impatiens produces lush green foliage, which contrasts its vivid blooms. Its spreading habit makes it ideal for growing in a container or window box. It is vigorous, can withstand unfavorable weather, and is considered winter hardy in zones 10 to 11
Sunpatiens® Kissing Cousins Mix Impatiens Care
The Sunpatiens® Kissing Cousins Mix Impatiens is happy whether planted in full sun or partial shade. It prefers a fertile and moist, yet free-draining soil. To encourage continuous flowers, you can fertilize it with a liquid feed every 2 weeks from early summer onwards. Water frequently and increase irrigation as the temperature rises over the summer. Pruning is often unnecessary, but you can lightly prune back leggy growth throughout the season to encourage new growth and flowers.
Being tender, impatiens are typically grown as annual plants but can be grown as perennials in southern climates. However, outside of zones 10 and 11, you would have to bring them indoors to overwinter.
Sunpatiens® Kissing Cousins Mix Impatiens Spacing
The Sunpatiens® Kissing Cousins Mix Impatiens can grow to 14 to 28 inches tall and 14 to 24 inches wide. Space plants from 14 to 22 inches apart depending on how close you would like them to knit together when fully grown.
