A new addition, the Superbells® Double Vintage Coral™ Calibrachoa is definitely worth considering if you are after a non-stop blooming annual. A Calibrachoa hybrid, Superbells® Double Vintage Coral™ produces a mass of amber-orange double flowers with a purple tinge. Furthermore, no deadheading is needed.
Growing to around 1 foot tall with a spreading/trailing nature, the Superbells® Double Vintage Coral™ Calibrachoa is an ideal container plant. However, as long as the soil is free-draining, you can also grow it in a raised bed or directly in the ground. A perfect spiller, it is ideal for growing with other annuals to provide summer-long color and interest. This calibrachoa is suitable for growing in zones 9 to 11.
Superbells® Double Vintage Coral™ Calibrachoa Care
For the best blooms, grow Superbells® Double Vintage Coral™ Calibrachoa in full sun. It can tolerate a little shade but not too much shade will limit its blooming potential. Water frequently to keep the soil moist, but allow the top inch of soil to dry between waterings, as calibrachoa is susceptible to root rot. Fertilize every 2 weeks with a high-potash liquid feed to promote reblooming. Leggy growth can be lightly trimmed to encourage bushy new growth and new blooms.
With the right care, the Superbells® Double Vintage Coral™ Calibrachoa will bloom right up until the first frost. When grown in a pot or planter, use a fertile and free-draining potting mix. Pots will need to be watered more frequently than plants grown in the ground to prevent the soil from completely drying out.
Superbells® Double Vintage Coral™ Calibrachoa Spacing
The Superbells® Double Vintage Coral™ Calibrachoa can grow to 12 inches high and 12 to 24 inches wide. For a mass of color, you can space this plant around 12 inches apart.
