With all the bells and whistles, this new calibrachoa is dressed to party. Showers of flowers – double ones, naturally - clad in a rich blue-toned pink trimmed in crisp white with a yellow eye. From the Superbells line, it needs no deadheading. The flowers resemble miniature petunias, but without the stickiness or constant trimming. Get ready to be swept away on the easy abundance of this great container plant.

This award-winning calibrachoa hybrid is a lower mounded trailer (averaging six- ten inches high) who keeps the party going all the way until frost. Love Swept is ideal for all sorts of containers, and superb for focal points in hanging baskets or pots. Like other calibrachoas, Love Swept can excel in the ground if given perfect drainage. Raised beds would be a great option for growing in the garden. Proven Winners, the breeder, highlights Love Swept in combinations with blue scaevola, single white calibrachoa, and trailing verbenas.

Superbells® Doublette Love Swept Calibrachoa Care

Calibrachoas are low-maintenance, asking only for full- to part-sun, regular fertilizer, and a moderate pH level. If your plants begin looking weak, or the foliage is yellowing, make sure you are using a well-balanced fertilizer. Proven Winners recommends one with an N-P-K ratio close to 24-12-17). If you have already been fertilizing, pH could be the issue - either too high or too low. This can be remedied with applying iron chelate in a foliar spray which should bring the foliage back to green.

If the plant is becoming lanky, they take pruning very well at any time. You can use a scissor or small clippers or shears. It will bounce back and begin producing flowers and beautiful bushy growth in a few days.

Superbells® Doublette Love Swept Calibrachoa Spacing

8 to 12 inches is an ideal spacing for this calibrachoa. Love Swept can spread 12-24 inches and trail up to 16.

    Damaged in...

Posted by Sandra Campbell on Jun 19, 2021

The box the plant was shipped in must have been upside down a lot. Opening the box I found that the plant and potting soil had come out of the container and shifted around. Some of the stems and blooms were broken off the plant. I repotted it right away to see if it will spring back to life. Will know in a week or so.
