This award-winning calibrachoa brings low-care repeat bloom in an ultra-luscious color dubbed Honeyberry. The trumpet shaped flowers shade from deep rose to pale pink, with a lemon eye for zing. It’s one of those colors that looks good with many others, but some we can think of are: cranberry, lime, raspberry, vivid orange, and of course pink! The flower parade keeps coming until frost, shrugging off summer heat and humidity, with no deadheading. The hummingbirds think it’s luscious too, and will enjoy it all season.
A mounded trailer with green foliage, this calibrachoa hybrid stays low, at a max of about a foot, and spreads perhaps two feet. If allowed to trail in a hanging basket or window box, it can reach up to 30 inches. Containers are ideal for calibrachoa, because they prefer excellent drainage, which is harder to ensure in the ground.
Superbells® Honeyberry Calibrachoa Care
Calibrachoas will bloom the most exuberantly in full sun, but will also agree to bloom in partial shade. They prefer average moisture, but always with good drainage, and never to be sitting in water. If your calibrachoas are not as full as you would like, you can trim them at any time. You will sacrifice some blooms for a few days, but the plant will rebound with bushy growth and new buds quickly.
Your Honeyberry calibrachoas will thrive with a well-balanced fertilizer; Proven Winners recommends an n-p-k- ratio close to 24-12-17. If you are already doing so, and you see some yellowing leaves, there may be a pH issue. Calibrachoas are sensitive to pH levels being too high or low. One remedy would be applying chelated Iron in a foliar spray to help the plant turn green again.
Superbells® Honeyberry Calibrachoa Spacing
Plant 12 to 24 inches apart, for the best spacing between your calibrachoa.
