What a color combo! The plum-purple petals of Superbells® Plum Calibrachoa are set off by a vibrant yellow eye that acts as a bullseye for hummingbirds and a stunning display to all close enough to see it. The small, petunia-like flowers set a bountiful bloom from planting until the first hard frost, making them a long-blooming delight in late summer and early fall. The distinct color of Superbells® Plum grabs the eye of any passer by!
This profuse plum bloomer is a delight in hanging baskets and combination container plantings. The mounding growth habit also puts out graceful cascades of color. The mounding, trailing combination is a “spiller” that can double as a “filler” in any planting. Plant Superbells® Plum Calibrachoa in a location that gets at least four hours of sunlight per day and watch them put on a big show with their colorful blooms.
Superbells® Plum Calibrachoa Care
Superbells® Plum is similar to other Calibrachoa varieties in that it requires well-drained soil for optimum health and vitality. As long as it has good drainage, it’s a low-maintenance annual that thrives in containers and raised garden beds. Always allow the soil to dry out between watering, and fertilize occasionally.
Superbells® Plum benefits from a little trim every now and then, but even this isn’t required. No deadheading is necessary to keep the blooms coming all season long. If you find that your Calibrachoa is wilting despite damp soil, it is likely that the roots are suffering. Make sure the soil dries out completely before watering again.
Superbells® Plum Calibrachoa Spacing
You can expect your Superbells® Plum Calibrachoa to spread up to 24” wide and trail up to 18”. It is not aggressive and behaves well with neighboring plants. Plant them 8-12” apart for best performance.
