Enjoy large, vibrant flowers that display lovely colors with the Superbells® Prism™ Pink Lemonade Calibrachoa. The bell-shaped flowers emerge in a golden yellow before transitioning to predominately pink with hints of yellow and a golden eye. The flowers grow on trailing stems that are offset by small, green foliage. This plant is a Calibrachoa hybrid that continues to bloom from spring until fall, and the trailing stems can reach 24 inches long.
This plant has a mounded trailing growth habit. Feature the Superbells® Prism™ Pink Lemonade Calibrachoa in a hanging basket or window box and let the stems cascade over the edge. Plant it in a container with drainage, because soggy soil is about the only thing this low-maintenance plant cannot handle. This beauty is heat tolerant, so it can continue to look amazing even during the hottest days of summer.
Superbells® Prism™ Pink Lemonade Calibrachoa Care
Water this Calibrachoa hybrid when the top couple inches of soil are dry. This plant is particular about moisture and does not like wet feet, so monitor the soil and only water when it is dry to the touch. The soil should have high organic content and a pH of 5.0-6.5. Place the plant in an area that receives 4 to 6 hours of sunlight. Feed the Superbells® Prism™ Pink Lemonade Calibrachoa using a slow-release fertilizer every few weeks during the growing season.
Deadheading is unnecessary for the Superbells® Prism™ Pink Lemonade Calibrachoa as this beauty is self-cleaning, and spent flowers naturally fall away. Plants can become straggly as the summer progresses. Trim back growth by one-third if the stems are leggy to promote new growth. Calibrachoa is a perennial in zones 9 through 11 and is grown as an annual in most areas. Trim back the growth in the fall and move potted plants inside to grow as houseplants.
Superbells® Prism™ Pink Lemonade Calibrachoa Spacing
Mature Calibrachoa plants stand 6 to 12 inches tall and spread 12 to 24 inches. Space plants 8 to 12 inches apart or feature 3 to 5 plants in a 12-inch container.
