SuperCal® Premium French Vanilla Petchoa (Petunia x Calibrachoa hybrid 'SAKPXC020') delivers delicately tinted, creamy yellow blooms from mid-spring well into autumn. The petals carry subtle hints of soft orange near their centers, creating a refined twist on a classic color scheme. This hybrid pairs the best traits of petunias and calibrachoas, resulting in bigger flowers that endure shifting weather. We find it brightens hanging baskets and flowerbeds without constant upkeep.
SuperCal® Premium French Vanilla Petchoa has an easygoing nature that includes strong roots, a self-cleaning habit, and the ability to tolerate light frosts, mid-summer heat, and periods of heavy rain. Whether placed along borders or spilling from tall containers, these blooms retain their charm for many weeks. Butterflies often pause for a sip, making this Petchoa a welcome addition to wildlife-friendly gardens. Originally developed to expand petunia possibilities, it emerges as a versatile choice for gardeners seeking stylish color.
SuperCal® Premium French Vanilla Petchoa Care
Set in full to partial sun, providing a minimum of four hours of direct light daily. Plant in fertile, well-draining soil with a moderately acidic to neutral pH. Water enough to keep soil lightly moist, though avoid saturating the roots. A monthly feeding with a balanced fertilizer supports continuous bloom through the growing season.
Prune leggy or declining stems in mid-summer to promote new branching and refreshed color. Container-grown specimens benefit from regular watering checks, particularly during hot stretches or windy days. In cooler regions, bring potted Petchoas to a sheltered spot if chilly nights threaten. These plants typically grow as annuals, but some gardeners manage to extend their life by overwintering them indoors near a sunny window.
SuperCal® Premium French Vanilla Petchoa Spacing
Provide around 14 to 22 inches between each plant if you’re creating a row or grouping. A container at least 12 inches wide offers ample space for the root system when planting a new specimen.
