SuperCal® Premium Pearl White Petchoa (Petunia x Calibrachoa hybrid 'SAKPXC033') delivers waves of creamy-white blooms that gleam in sunshine from spring’s start until autumn’s chill. Each trumpet-shaped flower reveals a subtle golden center, creating a soft yet eye-catching contrast against fresh green foliage. This robust hybrid brings together the best of petunias and calibrachoas, resulting in strong growth and striking petals that resist damage from downpours or intense heat. In our experience, the self-cleaning habit keeps the display looking neat, meaning less work and more time to enjoy its bright presence.
Beyond the garden-friendly color, this Petchoa offers a trailing habit ideal for containers or as a border accent. It handles high temperatures, tolerates a range of conditions, and continues producing new flowers despite summer storms. Hummingbirds often investigate the open blooms, adding to the plant’s dynamic appeal. Growers appreciate its durability and adaptability, qualities that make it into a reliable choice for porch planters, hanging baskets, or mass plantings.
SuperCal® Premium Pearl White Petchoa Care
Plant once frost concerns pass, placing it in a well-draining substrate with a slightly acidic to neutral pH. Provide at least four hours of direct sunlight each day, keeping the soil moderately moist—though not waterlogged—to encourage consistent growth. Feed once a month with a balanced, water-soluble formula to support healthy foliage and strong bloom production. Lightly trim away any leggy growth to maintain a tidy shape and foster additional buds.
For potted specimens, check moisture levels frequently in hot or windy conditions, as containers can dry out faster than in-ground plantings. If the plant appears to slow in midsummer, a quick prune often triggers new growth and fresh color. Feed potted plants every 2-3 weeks and protect them from chilly nights under 50 degrees F. Overwintering indoors is rare, as Petchoa is usually grown as an annual.
SuperCal® Premium Pearl White Petchoa Spacing
Allow approximately 14 to 22 inches between each plant for rows or mass placements, permitting the trailing stems to spread out without overcrowding. In containers, select a vessel at least 12 inches wide to accommodate the root system and an eye-catching cascade of blooms over the rim.
