- Height 6-12 Inches
- Width 18-24 Inches
- Use as a spiller when using in containers
- So many flowers you can hardly see the leaves underneath!
Supertunia® Bermuda Beach® has size, beauty, and the ‘wow’ factor. Its salmon/coral pink blooms will give you a striking display from planting to frost. Sometimes there are so many blooms that you can hardly see its green leaves. The plant grows 6-12 inches high and trails up to 30 inches. This vigorous, slightly-mounded award winner is a top seller.
The plant is heat and drought tolerant. It attracts butterflies and hummingbirds. Petunias have been around for hundreds of years, perhaps back to South American descent. In containers Supertunia® Bermuda Beach® acts as both a spiller and a filler. It works well in hanging baskets, combination containers, and window boxes. Use it in mass plantings, as a ground cover, or as an edging plant near the front of the border.
Supertunia® Bermuda Beach® Petunia Care
While classic petunias are a garden standby, Supertunias® excel as they not only bloom profusely, but self-clean so that deadheading is never needed. They are heavy feeders, benefiting from a controlled release fertilizer at planting time, then a soluble fertilizer, such as fish emulsion, every couple of weeks throughout the summer.
You can give them a trim at any time; for example, shearing off about 20% just up to the bottom of a hanging basket. Be judicious with water and make sure the soil is well drained, too much water will cause the plants to become leggy. Plant them in part sun to sun, in average soil. When growing them in containers, use a free-draining, soilless potting mix.
Supertunia® Bermuda Beach® Petunia Spacing
Supertunia Bermuda Beach® is stunning in a hanging basket, both alone or as a trailing plant in a mixed planting. Space them 12-24 inches apart in the landscape. You may plant them closer together in pots with five or six in a 12-inch container.
