- Height 8-12 Inches
- Width 18-24 Inches
- Use as a filler when using in containers
- Grow in hanging baskets or as a groundcover!
Supertunia Daybreak Charm’s pink flowers with bright yellow centers are a showstopper, whether in a pot or the landscape. This hybrid’s densely branched, mounding habit makes it a good selection for a container as filler with a little bit of spiller in its nature. Supertunia Daybreak Charm is heat tolerant and does well in full sun (6-plus hours) or part sun.
Daybreak Charm gets about 12 inches tall with a spread or trail of about 24 inches. Butterflies and hummingbirds visit the open, trumpet-shaped flowers. Use in a hanging basket or as a summer ground cover in the landscape. Most Supertunias tolerate cooler fall temperatures, which extends their season of color. Supertunias come in 23 other colors.
Supertunia® Daybreak Charm Petunia Care
Supertunias are heavy feeders. An application of slow release fertilizer when planting is recommended. Supplement with a water-soluble fertilizer periodically during the summer, following label directions. These plants are drought tolerant but will benefit from regular watering, as do most flowering plants.
Deadheading, or removing spent flowers, is not necessary. If the plants get spindly, use a sharp scissors or pruner to snip back as desired. It’s a good idea to fertilize after snipping to give the plants a boost. Supertunias would not make good houseplants.
Supertunia® Daybreak Charm Petunia Spacing
Plant one to three plants in a container. In the landscape, space 12 to 18 inches apart. Daybreak Charm’s size works well as puddles of color in the landscape when planted in threes or five. They also work well as an edging plant or mass planting.
