- Height 6-12 Inches
- Width 18-24 Inches
- Use as a spiller when using in containers
- Showy silver white flowers!
You will want to place Petunia Supertunia Latte at the front of your containers or garden beds so you can see them all season long. From planting to frost, this plant has very showy silver white flowers that have a dark brown or purple throat and veins. Petunia Supertunia Latte flowers are medium to large.
Heat and drought tolerant in most places, they generally stop flowering in mid-August when planted in the South because of the extreme heat. Petunia Supertunia Latte has a slightly mounded form but also trails over containers and hanging baskets, so can be used as a filler or spiller. In addition to containers, Petunia Supertunia Latte can be used as edging, in a hanging basket, in the landscape, or in mass plantings. Butterflies and hummingbirds like this plant.
Supertunia® Latte Petunia Care
Petunia Supertunia Latte is a heavy feeder. It needs an application of slow-release fertilizer when planted, even in containers. A second application is necessary for plants in the landscape after two to three months. In containers, Petunia Supertunia Latte needs an application with a water-soluble fertilizer once every 3-4 weeks. The plant will do best in moderate to fertile soil that drains well and is a bit damp. Deadhead to encourage new blossoms. Water often enough that the soil stays a bit damp, especially in containers. While Petunia Supertunia Latte will tolerate part-sun, it won’t have as many flowers the more it is in shade. It needs a good 6 hours of full, hot, sun.
Petunia Supertunia Latte is used as an annual in the United States, but it was originally a perennial from South America. If the plant is brought in for the winter before the first frost, it can be placed back out in the spring. Do not water it as much and do not fertilize it until spring growth begins.
Supertunia® Latte Petunia Spacing
While Petunia Supertunia Latte trails up to 30 inches, it only gets 6-10 inches tall. In the landscape and in containers, it will also spread out 18-24 inches wide. When planting Petunia Supertunia Latte, allow 12-24 inches between plants.
