Supertunia to the rescue! If you need a plant that performs without asking for much in return, look to Supertunia Mini Vista® Morning Glory. More forgiving than Calibrachoa varieties (which require great drainage), Supertunia Mini Vista® are blanketed in white-eyed, deep-violet flowers all season long. Plant them in a sunny location and enjoy the show as local hummingbirds and butterflies pay them a visit. These award winners are long bloomers, continuous bloomers, heat tolerant, and drought tolerant. You’ll quickly understand why the “super” was added.
The Supertunia Mini Vista® Morning Glory does it all. It has a nice mounded growing habit, and they will also trail a bit. This well-balanced combination allows them to pull double-duty as both “spillers” and “fillers” in containers. And when you add their gorgeous color to the mix, you might count them as “thrillers,” too! They are a favorite for hanging baskets because they don’t trail so much that they get in the way.
Supertunia Mini Vista® Morning Glory Petunia Care
Supertunia Mini Vista® Morning Glory is an easy-going over performer when planted in locations with at least four hours of sunlight. Apply some controlled-release fertilizer when first planted, and reapply towards the end of the season if you have a long, warm fall.
Keep them evenly watered throughout the season. No deadheading is required, but a trim can be helpful at the end of the summer to keep Mini Vista® looking tidy.
Supertunia Mini Vista® Morning Glory Petunia Spacing
Supertunia Mini Vista® Morning Glory can trail up to 24” long, but it is a well-mannered neighbor that won’t intrude on its companions if given the proper amount of space. Give 12-18” of space when planted in the ground, and 8-10” of space in containers.
