For a bold and cheering display, look no further than the Supertunia Mini Vista® Yellow Petunia. As a low-growing but spreading or trailing annual up to 2 feet in length, this petunia is perfect for many garden spots. It produces bright yellow blooms from spring until the fall and will certainly add a touch of sunshine wherever you grow it.
As a sun-loving plant, this petunia can cope with both heat and drought-like conditions. The Supertunia Mini Vista® Yellow Petunia was born to spread and provides great effect when allowed to trail down from containers or hanging baskets and even when given free rein on the ground. As an easy-to-grow annual, this petunia does not need deadheading and will rebloom for months on end. If that was not enough the flowers of the Supertunia Mini Vista® Yellow Petunia are loved by butterflies and hummingbirds.
Supertunia Mini Vista® Yellow Petunia Care
You can grow this stunning petunia in full sun to partial shade. For the best blooms, fertile soil is recommended as well as a balanced liquid fertilizer every 10 to 14 days during the season. Regular watering is required, especially throughout the warmer months when the soil should be kept moist. If grown in a container, drainage holes must be present to allow excess water to drain away and prevent waterlogging. Container-grown plants will dry out more quickly than when grown in the ground and will require more frequent watering.
Leggy plants can be lightly trimmed in midsummer to shape and encourage new growth. As an annual, petunias die off with the first frost of the winter. You can cut them back hard before the first frost, and store them in a garage or basement over the winter.
Supertunia Mini Vista® Yellow Petunia Spacing
The Supertunia Mini Vista® Yellow Petunia grows to only 6 to 12 inches high but can spread or trail up to 24 inches. When grown together, a spacing of 12 to 18 inches between plants is advisable.
