Need a colorful spiller or filler in your containers? Looking to bring some vibrancy to the front of your garden beds? On the lookout for a brilliant cascading plant for hanging baskets? Or would you like to soften a border with mounds of color? Whatever your garden goals this year, Supertunia® Royal Magenta® Petunia is here to help you reach them. The vigorous growth, abundant magenta blooms, and low maintenance of this Petunia hybrid variety are just the thing for a garden in need.
The mounded, trailing growth habit makes Supertunia® Royal Magenta® ideal for containers as well as the front of garden beds. Hummingbirds and butterflies love to pay the vivid blooms a visit. They’ll never run out of flowers, either, because Supertunia® blooms consistently and constantly until the first hard frost. They are heat tolerant and love the sun, so plant them in a sunny location.
Supertunia® Royal Magenta® Petunia Care
Supertunia® requires very little attention in order to reach its potential. Keep it evenly watered throughout the season. Add some continuous-release fertilizer upon planting, and fertilize again once or twice throughout the growing season.
Deadheading isn’t necessary to keep it blooming, but you may need to give it a trim towards the end of the season to avoid a more open appearance. It is heat tolerant but needs at least four hours or more of sunlight per day.
Supertunia® Royal Magenta® Petunia Spacing
Plant Supertunia® Royal Magenta® Petunia 18-24” apart to accommodate its vigorous growth and trailing nature. You can plant them closer in containers, about 12-18” apart. They are ideal for larger containers, especially when planted in combination with others.
