Provide moderately fertile, well-draining soil and six or more hours of direct sun each day. A light, consistent watering schedule helps maintain steady blooms without over-saturating the roots. Mix a controlled-release fertilizer into the soil at planting time; then follow up with regular feeding (weekly or bi-weekly) using a water-soluble formula for maximum performance.
Use sharp shears if the plant appears leggy, and remove any weak or broken stems to promote a healthier shape. Trimming spent stems by about 20% once or twice a season can encourage new branching and fresh growth.
