Tip: match plant habit to the role for the best designs.
Supertunia Vista® Cool Jazz™ Petunia gives you the muscle of Vista® petunias in a softer, cool orchid pink that plays nicely with pastels instead of overpowering them. Petunia hybrid 'WNPETSVCJ26' grows into a big, upright-spreading mound, reaching 12–24 inches tall and 24–36 inches wide, with trails that can extend up to 36 inches. It’s the kind of plant you choose when you want to fill a large bed fast without buying a cart full of annuals. Blooms keep coming from planting time to hard frost, and you won’t be stuck deadheading to keep it looking presentable.
Cool Jazz™ is a strong match for gardeners who loved Supertunia Vista® Jazzberry® but want a calmer color story. The plant becomes packed with flowers through the season, even in summer heat, and it tolerates short dry stretches once established. Butterflies and hummingbirds often work the blooms, which adds extra life to sunny patios and entry beds. Use it to blanket open ground in landscapes, anchor the center of large combination planters, or load it into oversized hanging baskets where it can cascade. We recommend it for high-visibility spots where you want big coverage and a more refined pink.
Supertunia Vista® Cool Jazz™ Petunia Care
Provide full sun to part sun, aiming for at least 4–6 hours of direct light for strong flowering. Plant in a location or pot with quick drainage, average fertility, and a pH slightly acidic to neutral (about 5.8–6.8). Water newly planted petunias often enough to prevent wilting while roots take hold, then shift to deeper, less frequent watering once growth takes off. In containers, check moisture daily during hot weather because large plants drink fast. Add a controlled-release fertilizer at planting, then supplement with water-soluble feedings through the season to maintain bloom volume.
If the plant starts to thin in the center or looks tired, give it a haircut to push fresh branching. Trim back up to one-third, and avoid removing more than that at a time. Expect a quick rebound and a fuller flush of flowers afterward.
Supertunia Vista® Cool Jazz™ Petunia Spacing
Space plants 18–32 inches apart so each one can reach its full spread without fighting its neighbors. For containers, use at least a 14–16 inch pot for one plant, or a larger trough or half-barrel if you’re building a mixed combo. Pair it with purple fountain grass, lantana, and sweet potato vine for a heat-loving mix that balances height, texture, and trailing color.
