- Best selling petunia that hummingbirds & butterflies adore!
The watermelon-pink flowers with salmon-pink undertones on this petunia are the perfect shade of pink to make a statement in your garden. This hue is in the sweet spot between pastel pink and hot pink, so it's neither subtle nor overpowering. Its mounding trailing habit will be covered in medium-sized blossoms from spring into fall when grown in part to full sun conditions. This medium height petunia will grow to be between 12 and 24 inches tall with a 24-to-36-inch spread.
This multiple award-winning & top selling plant attracts butterflies and hummingbirds. This petunia is heat and drought tolerant, disease resistant, and has average watering and fertilizing needs. Add this plant to the front or middle of garden beds to fill in gaps between immature perennials or in mass plantings. It will look great in tall containers and window boxes. Petunia Supertunia Vista Paradise acts as both a filler and spiller plant in container gardens. It can spill up to four feet by the end of the growing season.
Supertunia Vista® Paradise Petunia Care
Add a controlled release water-soluble fertilizer to the garden or container soil prior to planting in the spring. Container grown plants need to be fertilized more regularly than garden bed grown plants. Fertilize container-grown plants every two months as directed on the package for best results. You can trim back up to a third of your petunia if it becomes tired-looking or grows large enough where it is crowding out adjacent plants. If pruning is needed, do it right before it’s time to add more fertilizer for best results. Deadheading is not necessary for continuous or repeat blooming.
Petunias may not be the best choice for houseplants. They may not thrive in low light conditions found in most homes. Petunia Supertunia Vista Paradise is typically planted as an annual, but it is hardy in USDA planting zones 10 and 11.
Supertunia Vista® Paradise Petunia Spacing
Space plants 18 to 30 inches in a garden bed setting. Space them 18 inches apart in container gardens. This petunia likes to spread out as it grows.
