A sky‑full of petunias tumbles from Sweet Stars, a three‑plant fusion. Supertunia Vista Fuchsia pours on rich magenta, Mini Vista Pink Star flashes candy‑striped pinwheels, and Mini Vista Violet Star adds cool lavender spokes. Flowers open by the hundreds from late spring straight through autumn, completely hiding the tidy green foliage on mounded, trailing stems that reach 10 inches high and drape 18–24 inches. The coordinated pink‑and‑purple palette turns a 12‑inch basket into a living firework, catching eyes from patios, porch rails, or the front edge of mixed borders.
Pollinators hover all summer since each bloom is packed with nectar, yet deer usually pass the planting by. Heat, humidity, and brief dry spells scarcely slow the Vista series, so the combo thrives from Texas to the Carolinas and into the Midwest. All three petunias branch densely, making them first‑rate “spillers and fillers” for window boxes, tall urns, or massed ground covers. In landscapes, plant several kits together to create a sun‑loving river of color.
Sweet Stars Combination Care
Set plants in loose, well‑drained potting mix that contains a slow‑release fertilizer; water deeply to settle roots. After four weeks, begin feeding with a balanced water‑soluble fertilizer every 14–21 days to replace consumed nutrients. Allow the top inch of mix to dry before watering again—consistent moisture without water‑logging keeps roots healthy. If midsummer stems grow leggy, shear the planting by one‑third, then water and feed; new flower‑loaded growth appears within ten days.
Gardeners in zones 10–11 can keep Sweet Stars outdoors year‑round as an evergreen annual, trimming lightly in late winter to encourage fresh shoots. In colder regions, enjoy the display until a hard frost, then compost the planting or move the container into a bright, heated sunroom for a few bonus weeks of color.
Sweet Stars Combination Spacing
For instant fullness, one kit fills a 12–14 inch hanging basket or patio pot. When planting in larger barrels or window boxes, leave about 10 inches between plants so the vigorous Vista stems can knit together without crowding. In garden beds, space transplants 15 inches apart in a staggered grid; they will grow into a seamless carpet by midsummer while still permitting airflow around the foliage.
