Sweet Thai Basil is a common ingredient in Asian and Thai cooking, and this tasty plant adds a lovely burst of color to an herb garden, deck, or patio space. Also known as Ocimum 'Sweet Thai’, this plant has broad, 2-inch-long leaves that narrow to a point and have a licorice or clove-like flavor. The green foliage has purple accents and dark purple stems and flowers.

Sweet Thai Basil plants need full sunlight to thrive. Plant it in rich, moist soil that is well drained. Pinch back new growth to encourage branching and create a more dense and full plant.
